High school was awful, so I'm sure I wanted revenge on just about all and sundry. However, I had no plan, probably because I knew I was not going to win.
ReplyDeleteThe closest it came to a plan was a sort of Romy and Michele's High School Reunion idea of going to the reunion and being all hot and together and successful. Doubt that! lol.

Love the Romy and Michele reference. That is a classic plan, Christinia! I've definitely pondered the I'll show up and WOW them out of their socks move....even after high school. :)
DeleteSo, I was homeschooled. I did feel like getting revenge on a couple douches during that time, but I never followed through. A bit too lazy, I guess. :)
ReplyDeleteI followed and tweeted here: https://twitter.com/#!/MelanieFoust/status/195966469207621632
Well, for what it's worth, Melanie, I'm glad you were lazy - revenge has lots of consequences! Marked both of your entries :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
In High School was generally a good time for me. The only instance I can remember that I wanted revenge, was when the best player on my volleyball decided to hate me because I decided to stand up to her because she was bullying some members on our volleyball team. She tried to spike the volleyball in my face. I didn't go after her because that's just not the person I am, but we went against each other on the court and not only did I beat her, but I also embarrassed her and block her hit and got the game winning point for my team :)

That's an awesome story, Aly!! No need to get evil or dirty if you can beat them at their own game on the court :) Marked both entries.
DeleteMy motto was always, "someday you'll all be working for me!" A slow and sweet revenge.
ReplyDelete...Of course, now I'm aspiring to be a writer, so I guess it'll be more like, "someday you'll all be reading my books!" instead. :)
Sounds like the perfect revenge to me... maybe it's a writer thing :)
DeleteHigh School wasn't terrible for me, i don't think anyone really did anything to make me want to exact revenge (that I remember...maybe I've blocked it out! haha). College, however, was a different story; a few former friends turned their backs on me and started spreading rumors, and I definitely concocted several plans of revenge in my head. Generally harmless things, and I never did anything -- but it kinda made me feel better still!
ReplyDeleteThanks for doing the giveaway! I've heard such great things about this book (and it's Jenny + Siobhan, it can't go wrong!)
I also retweeted! I have no idea how to get the URL since it's just the trackback to your tweet, but I promise it's on my timeline!
Sorry to hear it was former friends that did that. I completely agree with you, just thinking up the plans is sometimes the best therapy - no consequences! :)
ReplyDeleteThe book is AMAZING!!! It was a must share, because it's that good. And now, all of us revenge-plan-plotters get to live vicariously through the 3 awesome characters Jenny and Siobhan created - like you said, with these two writers you can't go wrong.
Marked both the entries. I'm not sure about the URL either, but the retweets are on my @connect feed.
Good luck!
I had a big crush on this boy from my school back in Freshman year. Kyle was blond and stylish and just overall adorable, so when I found out that he liked my best friend (also blond, stylish, and overall adorable), I was a bit heartbroken. I was at another friend's house one morning after a sleep-over and I got the news. He texted me something like "me like Ashley now" and I sobbed a little too hard on the mattress. Fast forward to later in the day when I told Ashley about Kyle and she was pretty angry. For really not reason at all (ugh. Poor Kyle, he just liked who he liked) we decided to get "revenge" on him.
ReplyDeleteIt's so silly to think of now because Kyle really didn't do anything wrong. Except lead me on a little perhaps, but we were more of a summer fling. Anyway, our idea of revenge was to call his cell and leave a dirty msg telling him never to speak to us again or something like that. So it wasn't really revenge, like, at all.
It was more like a bitch-slap over the phone and then we just never spoke to him again.
But it's amazing of you to do this giveaway! I would tweet but I don't have a twitter.
x
That's a great story, Courtney. Not about Kyle, obviously, but that you two stuck together and gave him the 'bitch-slap'. So many other friendships have been ruined over guys, and they never seem to be worth it in the end. Whether it was the true definition of revenge or not, it was definitely bad-ass girl power :)
DeleteGood luck!
I was usually the person that tried to keep out of drama during most of my time in high school. But I do remember there was this time Sophomore year when a boy that two of my friends both liked couldn't decide between them. I didn't think it was nice to him to treat either of them that way...I think my friends and I plotted to take revenge, but we never ended up doing anything. :)
ReplyDeleteI would tweet, but I don't have a Twitter account :(
Thanks for holding this giveaway! :)
There's still something to be said for taking action (even if just to band together and make the plans), especially when someone is treating your friends that way! Relationships and how they're handled can leave such lasting effects on our personalities - and WOW are there lasting effects in Burn For Burn!
DeleteGood Luck! :)
I was pretty much in my own world in high school...LOL. I wasn't really involved in a lot of drama but I'm sure that if someone had done something to piss me off I would have come up with something :)

No drama makes life so much easier, but in books the drama keeps it interesting :) It's a good thing we don't have to constantly live the lives of our favorite heroines!
ReplyDeleteMarked both entries, Angie. Good Luck!
I've always wanted to take revenge on my boyfriend. He is a flirt, still flirts and likes it. As his girlfriend, I do not like it. I get jealous easily. He also keeps a picture of his ex-crush's (more like a girlfriend, 'cos I'm positive they had a small thing) picture as his wallpaper on his phone even before we started going out. I just know that he used to like her a LOT. And since I'm so insecure, I feel as if he liked her more than he ever liked me. I thought it was weird and shady. Just recently, we had an argument about it for one whole week. We were just hostile and mad at each other. It really sucked and I feel that this changed the course of our relationship.
ReplyDeleteI threatened to do the same thing and put my old crush's picture as my wallpaper as revenge, but for some reason he was absolutely fine with it, because he said, that as long as he has me, he is okay which angered me even more.
Although after doing it, it felt weird because I really did not have feelings for this guy anymore and it was a little disturbing to have his face staring back at me every time I check my phone especially since we rarely talk anymore.
In the end, our issue was resolved somewhat, but I took this experience as a lesson that revenge does not make you feel better. It makes you feel worse about yourself. It is unfulfilling and nothing gets resolved on the other person's end. You think that the other person will get equally as hurt as you did, but you're wrong. That person will learn nothing and will only see that you are just angry, hurt, crazy person. Revenge just sucks.
Also, I dislike my username. I don't shop at that store anymore, but I had this live journal in middle school, and I didn't have any other blog to reply to this post as.
So true, often times revenge resolves nothing and only leaves you feeling worse than before. Sometimes it can also bring much about your situation and yourself into focus, whether that's good or bad.
DeleteAnd sometimes it can be FUN - like when we get to read about it in fictional characters's lives!
Good luck!
